Aerospace Adventures (A2) program provides over 40 interactive, hands on activities, experiments, and demonstrations to the public. Since the programs inaugural year in 2003, thousands of families have enjoyed activities ranging from aerodynamic experiments, safety equipment demonstrations, Global Positioning tutorials, and flying full scale simulators. Aerospace Adventures will be open throughout the Vectren Dayton Air Show on the show grounds near the Pavilion. A2 is composed of numerous themes, each designed to emphasize the unique aspects of technical careers. The themes range from emphasis in education and aerospace heritage to hands-on activities like flight simulation and preparing an aircraft for flight; however the goal remains consistent throughout all the themes -- to get kids interested in technical careers. With the shrinking workforce for scientific and technical specialties, A2’s goal is to increase the awareness and appreciation of science and engineering to the young people around the world. Aerospace Adventures is produced by the National Aviation Heritage Area Alliance. |
